A Letter from Linda Maslow
We will miss her being part of the CMMA family . . .

Linda Maslow, CEO of long-time partner Maslow Media Group is retiring in May.  Linda has been a fixture in our partner ranks for over a decade, and has cultivated a great relationship with CMMA over the years.  I count MMG as one of a very few, select partners that have truly made a difference in our organization’s success.  Her sustained and critical support over the years has meant so much for us and our members.  I know that Nick will carry on in her footsteps;  and we look forward to partnering with him in the future.

Video is a huge part of the marketing mix for most organizations. It offers a great opportunity for greater engagement with audiences. But how you define “engagement” can vary from one organization to another. Perhaps even more important, engagement can be a difficult thing to measure. So for most marketers, engagement metrics are a critical but elusive component to a successful video marketing strategy.

On March 1st, we hosted the latest CMMA Metro Meetup at the Kaltura HQ office in Manhattan. In partnership with TeamPeople (special thanks to Rachel Kennedy) and the wonderful leadership of CMMA, we had two insightful speakers whose insights we’re lucky to be able to share.

Dear CMMA Members and Partners,

Wow! All we can say is: Wow! The 2016 CMMA National Conference in Memphis was an amazing event. Everything, from the keynote speakers to the Fast-Track Solution sessions, to the Topic-Go-'Rounds, the Partner Sharing sessions, the panel discussions and the Bijou Theatre...this was a conference absolutely worthy of CMMA's 70th Anniversary.

Robert Swan's presentation, Leadership on the Edge, was highly informative, appropriately humorous, and incredibly inspirational. So many of you told us how honored you were just to have Mr. Swan come to CMMA. We look forward to following his next adventure when leaves for the South Pole in October of 2017.

We are all involved, one way or another, in telling stories, so Shane Meeker's presentation, Why Story Matters, brought home the concepts, the tools and the "gotchas" in story telling. His upbeat, well-illustrated presentation provided valuable insights into one of the most important parts of our craft.

And what can we say about Carol Whitworth? She was a total "hoot". She presented incredibly valuable and pertinent information in such a fun and unorthodox way, we will remember it....and her....well into the future. She became a PART of CMMA for the week and seemed to love every minute of being with us, as we did her.

As always, what we value most about CMMA is our networking time. Beginning with the pre-pre-pre-conference dinner at Rendezvous Ribs for those who arrived early on Friday, to our sponsored pre-con events at the Civil Rights Museum, the Gibson Guitar Factory, the Rock-n-Soul Museum, and Graceland all the way to the President's Dinner high atop the Peabody Hotel, we shared new experiences, made new friends, and learned about leadership and technology from our colleagues and Partners.

And.....our @CMMA1 twitter feed (#cmmaMemphis) out-trended all but one other twitter feed coming out of Memphis for the entire week. Quite an accomplishment.

We want to thank all of you who came to Memphis to be a part of the event, and all those who contributed to making this one of the most exciting and informative national conferences in memory.

We also want to thank all of our CMMA Partners for all they contribute to the vitality of CMMA.

As we look forward to the next 70 years of CMMA, we encourage you to continue to be involved and to keep the conversations going; on Twitter, on LinkedIn, on Facebook, and on

Finally, if you want to get involved or start a Metro meeting in your area, please reach out to us directly.  We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming regional or metro meeting in 2017.

With warmest regards,
Gregg Moss, CMMA President and Marv Mitchell, Executive Director

President's Dinner: We've Got the Blues for You...

What ties up with a bow every National Conference for our members and partners alike? The event where we all come together and celebrate our connections over wine, music, and dinner? It's the annual President's Dinner, of course, and this year have we got the fine dining and blues for you. Please join President Gregg Moss, as he hosts the 2016 annual President's Dinner at the Peabody Rooftop Restaurant and Skyway.

The President's Dinner will close three days of collaboration, thought leadership, and a whole lot of fun! And as a special musical treat, the King Beez will be performing so we can tap our toes to one of Memphis' premiere rhythm & blues bands. The King Beez group breathes life into the very soul of rhythm and blues for they have captured the essence of this particular genre. They are a fixture of Beale Street and Memphis music and will celebrate with us on our 70th anniversary.

So, if you haven't already registered for the conference, please do so today, and don't forget to RSVP for the dinner when you do! The conference planning team appreciates your early registration to better plan the dinner and fun.

Let's rock 'n' roll!
